HALF-LIFE ЭТО БЕЗЫСХОДНОСТЬ

Hey, Half-Life, the game series that changed the gaming industry. And I'm not even talking about the physics, graphics, lack of cutscenes, the fact that gameplay comes first, or how each new installment managed to move the industry forward, like the first installment, which paved the way for first-person shooters, or the second, where the graphics still look great, or Alix, which opened up the world of VR and a new experience. I'm talking about the fact that almost thirty years later, people are still discussing this amazing world. Every leak, every rumor, every line instantly spreads across the internet, because millions of players are still waiting for the one game that will complete the entire story of Half-Life 3. This wait has been amusingly called "hopium," because some want to know who Gman is and who he works for or who he's pursuing, some want to see how Gordon Freeman's story ends, some want to know Alyx's fate, and some just want to finally put an end to a story that has been going on for over twenty years. But the more I looked at Half-Life and its lore, the more I couldn't shake the thought: what if there never was a good ending? Moreover, what if, from the very first game, Valve has been telling us not the story of humanity's salvation, but the story of its defeat? Because if you remove the gravity gun, the shootouts, the headcrabs, the memes, and the jokes, the picture that emerges is quite terrifying: the world of Half-Life is a world that has already lost. People don't win, they survive. Every victory proves temporary, every triumph turns into a new catastrophe. And hope exists only until you begin to look a little deeper. So today, I want to analyze the entire history of the series, from the very first game to the events of Alyx, as well as interesting moments related to the series and the Epistle 3 leaked by Mark Laidlaw. I'll also explore how this world works. I'll understand why the Alliance is one of the most fearsome and formidable adversaries in the gaming industry. And most importantly, I'll answer the question of why I personally believe Half-Life is a hopeless game with no happy ending. So, pour yourself a pint of dumplings, brew a pot of stout, and let's get started.
