A Long Walking Day Through Shikoku | Pilgrimage Day 29

Day 29 of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage became another long walking day on the road. After the rest and recovery of the previous days, the journey continues with around 32km on foot. The body is still tired, the foot is still not perfect, and the distance feels heavy, but the pilgrimage keeps moving forward. This day brings a mix of quiet roads, temple visits, changing scenery, and the mental challenge of walking a long distance after trying to recover. Some parts are beautiful, some parts are exhausting, and some parts are simply about continuing until the end of the day. After everything that has already happened on the road — injury, bad sleep, low moods, kindness, rest days, and small moments of beauty — Day 29 becomes another reminder that the Shikoku pilgrimage is not only about reaching temples. It is about finding the will to keep going.
