At the end of World War 2, a number of female concentration camp guards were captured and brought to trial. Many of these worked at the former camp of Stutthof, and they were known for their brutal crimes and actions. But there were 5 former female guards who were executed in public on the gallows in front of 20,000 people. But why did this happen in such a public and humiliating manner?
