A History of California and Mexican Heritage

This week we are coming to you from the Old Mission in San Juan Bautista. If you grew up in California it's a pretty good chance that you visited one of the 21 missions throughout the state when you were in the 4th grade. School kids keep coming here every year to make that field trip. Today archaeologist Dr. Ruben Mendoza joins us to explain about the Old Mission's history and he going to give us a bit of a tour. We are going to take a look at some California History with a Greg Smestad who can trace his family tree back eight generations. And we are going to meet the talented playwright and film director Luis Valdez. He is best known for his movies Zoot Suit and La Bamba and he makes his home right here in San Juan Bautista.
