Today on Gold Mining From Scratch we make one of the biggest upgrades in the history of our Yukon Valley gold mine! After generating over $1.5 million dollars from our last gold cleanup, it's finally time to reinvest some of that money back into the operation. Our mining systems have been running better than ever lately, but one major bottleneck has started to appear. Our CAT 395 excavator simply can't keep up with the demands of our growing mining operation. To solve that problem, we haul the CAT 395 back to the dealership and trade it in for a massive brand new Volvo EC950EL excavator! This nearly $1,000,000 machine comes equipped with a much larger bucket and promises to load our fleet of Volvo A60H rock trucks faster than ever before. While we're at the dealership we also pick up a brand new Can-Am Outlander 1000 and utility trailer to help improve how we transport gold concentrate around the mine site. Once the new equipment arrives back at the Hillside Cut, it's time to put everything to the test. We fire up Slucifer, get our rock trucks back on their AutoDrive routes and begin moving massive amounts of pay dirt through our wash plant. The results are incredible. The new Volvo EC950EL proves to be a game changer as we load trucks faster than ever before and keep a constant flow of material moving through the plant. By the end of the day we've completely filled Slucifer with gold concentrate not once, but TWICE! With gold concentrate piling up faster than ever, we haul load after load over to our gold processing facility where it begins its journey toward becoming gold bars and what could be one of the biggest gold sales we've ever had.
