"Defying Death" came about after Ta Tha-it gained fame with his Ghost Guide series. He then created a new pen name, "Nan Narubadin," and published his first feature novel. Initially, he titled it "The Green Hero," an unconventional action story about soldiers battling terrorists. At the time, he was already writing Ghost Guide or *Bangkok Guide*, but the editor of "Fah Muang Thai" (a Thai publishing house) rejected the title. "Hey! This kind of story isn't suitable for our publication. Fah Muang Thai doesn't publish action-packed stories like this." Ajin Panjaphan, not wanting to disappoint his protégé, offered some helpful advice: "Take it to Phanom Thien instead. He's currently working on the 'Phet Phra Uma Universe' series, and this type of action story is perfect for him." Ta Tha-it believed his mentor and immediately went to see Phanom Thien. "Brother Eed," who had previously ignited the firework trend of action novels with his "Garuda's Claws" (a Thai novel), loved to help his younger colleagues. Upon receiving the manuscript, he snapped his fingers and thought, "Perfect!" But the title was so cliché. "Defying Death" would be better. It caught his eye. And so, Defying Death began! Chusak Rasrichan was a renowned writer, sought after by many publishers. Writing for multiple publishers simultaneously, he used several pen names. Chusak Rasrichan began his writing career in Ajin Panjaphan's magazine, "Fah Muang Thai," where he gained fame with his documentary series on tour guides, "Guide Bangkok," under the pen name "Ta Tha-it." Later, he began writing action novels for the weekly magazine "Bangkok" under the pen names "Ta Tha-it" and "Nan Narubadin." For action novels with steamy and bizarre love scenes, he used the pen name "Kongla Surakrai." For a period, he also wrote this genre for the Thai Rath newspaper. He also wrote documentaries about Thai mercenaries in Laos and Vietnam under the pen name "Chiang Saen Rasichan." His greatest fame came when he wrote action novels for the magazine "Bangkok," almost all of which were adapted into films. He became close friends with Sombat Metanee, who bought his novels for film adaptation, as they were born in the same year. He was even invited to act in a film alongside Sombat Metanee and Jarunee Suksawat in "Salak Jit." Later, due to health problems, he ceased writing and has since stopped producing new works. Chusak Rasichan was born on June 12, 1937, in Tha It Subdistrict, Mueang Uttaradit District, Uttaradit Province. He is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, but did not complete his studies. He then attended a teacher's college and taught English at a school in Uttaradit Province. He had experience as an unlicensed tour guide in Bangkok and as an interpreter for the military, which was used to write his documentary series "Guide Bangkok," which brought him fame. While teaching English, Chusak Rasichan wrote short stories and documentaries for magazines. However, he wasn't very famous until he wrote a documentary about the life of a tour guide and submitted it to "Fah Muang Thai," edited by Ajin Panjaphan, in 1970. It wasn't published, but one day the publishing house encountered a problem with the manuscript for 'Rong Wongswansan's "This House Has Rooms for Rent," the featured story in the issue, not arriving on time.
