How to: VW Type 2 Campmobile Jalousie Louvered window rebuild.

NOTE: VIDEO CLEARS UP 35 SECONDS IN. This is not a simple task. But you can do it. It is a great winter project. Take it out and work in a heated garage or bring it in to your basement or workshop. To remove the louvred window, unscrew the frame frame inside the van. Then press the frame out (best to have a helper). Then pull the outer seal away. Unscrew the frame at the top and bottom. Open the louvered windows and unscrew them at the sides. Remove the C clip from the connecting bar. Pull the rubber from the inner frame. This requires prying the pinches out. Thread the new rubber in. Unscrew the three window frames. Work the four sides off separately. Pull the old rubber off the window or out of the frame. Wrap new rubber on the window. Put the ends of the frame back on. Put the sides on. This requires a great deal of effort to get the rubber to seat properly. Reassemble the rest by reversing steps. When installing the outer seal, be sure it seat all the way on. Insert the frame to the bus top edge first. The press the lower seal in. Work the rest of the seal in. You may need to screw in some of the inner screws to help. The screen unclips, spline peels away. Cut new screen. Put in new spline.
