Blur game review | Excellent in spite of Activision’s best efforts

Blur is the last racing game and the second last game Bizarre creations would ever make. It’s a swansong for both its British developer, which would close its doors forever just a year later and AAA combat racing games. Blur is fast, chaotic and immensely fun to play but it could have easily turned out very differently. Activision’s involvement was hugely disruptive to the development process and they completely failed to find an audience in what was an extremely competitive market. As a result, it didn’t sell and the sequel that was already in development was cancelled. The Blur game remains a blast to play in 2022 and thanks to some thoughtful multiplayer modes can still be enjoyed with friends. So in this retro review, I’m going to take a look at its plagued development history, its underwhelming launch, how the different versions compare and what the best way to play today is. #blur #retrogames #gamereview Thanks to both Wheatley Gaming and ace#4387 for allowing me to include the deleted cutscenes.
