[The footage in this report was recorded in April 2023; information in the description and the video may therefore differ from the current state of affairs.] In April 2023, the Chemelot industrial fire brigade (Sitech Fire Brigade) put its new industrial foam fire extinguishing vehicle with a fire arm into service. The vehicle completed the tender for 4 modern foam fire extinguishing vehicles and replaces a DAF built in 2002. Peter Bloemers, manager of the Fire Brigade & Security at Chemelot, explains the choice for a foam fire extinguishing vehicle with a fire arm: "Chemelot has a number of specific scenarios, such as tank fire fighting or gas leaks at height. "With the fire extinguishing arm, we can focus our efforts on the leak." The unique vehicle, a Volvo FM540, was built by Ziegler Brandweertechniek and features a CELA fire extinguishing arm, ALCO APF5 roof monitor, Orlaco 360° camera system, Ziegler Z-Vision 360° beacons and work lighting, a 6000L foam tank, and a Ziegler FPN10-10000-1HR fire pump with a capacity of 8000L/min. Agreements have been made between the industrial fire brigade and the Limburg safety regions so that the fire-fighting giant can also be deployed outside the chemical park in exceptional cases. This has already happened during a major fire at an industrial estate in Venlo.
