Hailing from Puducherry, M. Poonguzhali has masterfully overcome the challenges of Down syndrome to become a celebrated and highly skilled Bharatanatyam dancer. During her formal stage debut in January 2020, she entered the India Book of Records for executing the most Bharatanatyam steps in a single session by a person with a disability. Guinness World Record: In 2019, she participated in the "Thillai Natyanjali" dance festival at the Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram, joining 7,190 other dancers to help set a Guinness World Record. Beyond performing on state, national, and international stages, she actively choreographs routines for her own YouTube channel and teaches Bharatanatyam to young girls.
