Lay Up Under Me - Beyonce | Sorah Yang (Korea Workshop)

I got the amazing privilege of being able to teach in Korea this past month, and this video captures 1 of 3 classes I taught during my trip. The story behind this piece is simple: I was home alone and just wanted to dance. I've always loved this song, so I started freestyling to it and this "routine" is what resulted. Due to the fact that it's extremely different from what I usually create and share publicly, I almost didn't teach this piece because I was afraid that people wouldn't accept it/were expecting to learn a certain style from me. But watching these talented dancers enjoy themselves and do so well in class made me beyond happy that I took a risk, and has inspired me to continue to do so as I create and teach in the future. Don't set limiting boundaries on yourself; you are capable of more than you think! To all the people and students I met in Korea: Thank you for making the trip so memorable by sharing all your warm, enthusiastic, and positive energy with me.
