Make Your Own Silage, Here's How!

In response to requests for a video presentation on how to make Silage for Goats, Cattle and Sheep, I am sharing here an instructional video where Cattle Feeding expert Arnel Corpuz shows how to prepare silage. What are the recommended Silage materials? Arnel says the best Silage material would be Corn and Sorghum which would be cut and harvested at 75 days old. In the absence of these materials, Napier, Pakchong and Sugarcane Tops could serve as substitute. Silage from Sugarcane Tops, however, must be supplemented with hammered Corn or Sorghum because of its very low CP content of only 3%. In areas where all of these materials are not available, Rice Straws could also be used but then again these must be supplemented with micro-minerals and other feed materials.
