Mind the Gap
"Mind the Gap" is the remarkable story of Margaret McCollum, the woman who waits every day to hear her husband’s voice at the tube station. Oswald Laurence first recorded the 'Mind the Gap' announcement in the 1950’s, and it has been running on the London Underground for years. His wife came to listen to his voice every day after his death, until lastly the tape was replaced. Eventually, Transport for London sent Margaret a tape with her husband's voice.
