Octopods and icicles – new Edward Lear poems discovered

Three previously unseen poems by the famous nonsense poet Edward Lear have been discovered by a University of Nottingham student, hidden in a manuscript in the British Library. Amy Wilcockson was leafing through a volume in the Charnwood Collection when she came across a limerick, a poem and some letters written by Edward Lear to a young woman he befriended in Italy. The poems in this video have been narrated by actor Hazel Ellerby. #universityofnottingham #EdwardLear #weareuon #extraordinarynottingham #literature About the University: The University of Nottingham is a pioneering university that provides an exceptional research-led education , and an outstanding student experience.
