Cafe Infinity is located at ITS Dental College, Greater Noida. The vision was to design a sustainable structure that goes beyond the conventional and pushes the boundaries of design and build form. Recycled shipping container, being a sustainable product, was a perfect fit due to its modularity as well as economic feasibility as compared to the conventional RCC structure,9 X 40' shipping containers are utilized for the same. The core concept behind using the infinity symbol as the layout is to emphasize the infinite possibilities that emerge from using a shipping container as the fundamental structural unit. The versatility and sturdiness of the container makes it affordable and effective, regardless of building site or type. The symbol, when translated to the cafe build form, stands as an articulate expression of the inherent structural and aesthetic value of the shipping container. As the Architect, I want this structure to reflect the ethos of sustainable innovation – creating new uses and aesthetics in synergy with the environment.
