Cattleya intermedia var. aquinii - The first Cattleya Orchid species to bloom!

Today we feature another premiere bloom in my collection, the very popular Cattleya intermedia var. aquinii, which happens to be the first Cattleya botanical species I ever see in bloom :) ▼▼▼More info bellow!▼▼▼ Cattleya intermedia is quite the popular one in the orchid hobby, many collections own it and love it due to its ease of care. The intermedia is a medium to large sized Cattleya orchid, which produces considerable big flowers. The background is typically white, or pale pink, while the lip presents a purple tip. The aquinii has a very similar pattern on the petals as well, while the sepals remain a waxy pale pink, in comparison with the pure white petals. The flowers on mine are not fragrant, though some varieties can have a rather mild floral scent. It is slightly disappointing from this point of view, as it was advertised as fragrant, but maybe it all has to do with particular individuals. Care wise it is a hardy orchid, willing to bloom and not fussy at all.
