I tested the new Honda CBR650R with the innovative E-Clutch system over a distance of over 700 km! I took it through city traffic, on the highway with a passenger, and on the track. Is the electronic clutch truly a "crime" and a maximum ease of riding, or just an unnecessary gadget? In an era of ubiquitous twin-cylinder engines, this machine offers a phenomenal-sounding inline-four engine (DOHC, 16 valves). It generates 94 hp (70 kW) and revs up to 12,000 rpm, delivering incredibly smooth, turbine-like power! But the aggressive look, inspired by the iconic CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, belies something more. This motorcycle's main selling point is the E-Clutch. This innovative solution, adding just 2 kilograms to the bike's weight, coordinates clutch operation, fuel cutoff, and ignition using an internal actuator. The result? You can start, shift, and upshift without using your left hand! The engine won't stall even when stopped. But what if you're a purist? You can always take control and use the lever in the traditional way.
