Glamour to Gloom — Inside Northbrook Court Mall

Northbrook Court Mall, established in 1976 in Northbrook, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, originally featured three major anchor stores: Sears, Neiman Marcus, and Lord & Taylor. Over time, the mall expanded to include a movie theater, JC Penney, and Marshall Field, which later transitioned to a Macy's. At its peak, the mall housed over 100 smaller retail shops along its corridors. However, it has since experienced a significant decline, resembling a ghost town today with fewer than half of its stores still in operation. On a positive note, it continues to host high-end retailers such as LEGO and Apple in its central area. #deadmall #deadmalls #northbrookcourt
