Diputados no aprobó la conformación de ninguna comisión por ASSE

The ruling party and the opposition have been trying for some time to negotiate how to proceed with parliamentary investigations into the State Health Services Administration (ASSE). But yesterday, once again, they were unable to reach an agreement in the Chamber of Deputies on either of the two proposals to create an investigative commission for this purpose. The National Party proposed analyzing ASSE's management from 2015 to the present, which includes the last government of Tabaré Vázquez, that of Luis Lacalle Pou, and the current administration. The opposition's focus is on the current president of the agency, Álvaro Danza, whom they accuse of holding jobs incompatible with his public office, which constitutes a violation of regulations. For its part, the Broad Front is willing to investigate the previous administration, headed by Leonardo Cipriani, whom they have criminally charged, along with other former board members, under the presumption of corruption offenses related to his management of the agency. We welcomed Juan Gorosterrazú, a member of parliament from the Broad Front; and Federico Casaretto, a member of parliament from the National Party.
