Today, I take you on an incredible journey to the Ashta Bhairav Temple, a hidden gem nestled in the mountainous region of Ukhimath, Uttarakhand. This temple is one-of-a-kind, where you can witness the presence of eight Bhairavs in a single place. It is a Siddh Tantrik Peeth of Kedarkhand and ranks among the three most famous Siddh Tantrik Peeths in the region. 🔍 Discovering a Hidden Spiritual Treasure Although I have visited Ukhimath several times, I had no idea about this temple until my recent trip. Thanks to my friend Chetan, I finally got the chance to explore this mystical place. 🔹 Our journey started early in the morning 🔹 We followed a narrow path through stepped fields 🔹 From the temple's backside, you get a mesmerizing view of the Omkareshwar Temple of Ukhimath As we arrived, we were greeted by colorful flags and tied clothes, a symbol of deep faith. However, something unexpected caught my eye—goat skulls tied at the entrance with bells. This practice is part of the tantrik traditions involving animal sacrifice, a ritual I personally do not support. 🛕 Exploring the Temple & Its History Inside the temple, we met Priest Thakur Deepak Singh Kunwar, who belongs to the ruler clan of Garhwal. He warmly welcomed us and shared the fascinating history of the Ashta Bhairav Temple. Key highlights of our visit: ✔️ The Eight Bhairavs of Dhawalgiri – The priest guided us through the different manifestations of Lord Bhairav. ✔️ Ancient Artifacts & Weapons – He showed us a mysterious sword with an unknown script, old weapons, statues, and ancient utensils. ✔️ A Sacred Duty – The priest explained that serving Ashta Bhairav is his divine duty, and he cannot take up a job under someone else. He also runs a Jyotish office for astrology consultations. If you have any queries or need guidance, his contact details are provided in this vlog. 🌄 The Spiritual Significance of Ashta Bhairav Temple 🏔️ Located on the outskirts of Ukhimath, this temple is believed to have been built during the time of the Pandavas and is dedicated to Lord Shiva's fierce manifestation as Bhairav. Why is the number 8 significant? 🔹 The eight Bhairavs represent the eight directions 🔹 Devotees worship them for blessings, protection, and spiritual power 🔹 The temple also has idols of other gods and goddesses, enhancing its spiritual aura The colorful decorations and vibrant atmosphere make this temple one of the most unique places to visit in Uttarakhand. 🌤️ My Experience & Final Thoughts The day of our visit was windy and cloudy, adding a mystical charm to the experience.
