Zoom sur le quartier Rex à Pointe Noire
Rex is one of the older neighborhoods in Pointe-Noire. It falls within two districts: Lumumba and Mvou-Mvou. In this neighborhood, Congolese residents live alongside a large community of people from the Democratic Republic of Congo. This neighborhood, which takes its name from a movie theater, was formerly known as Quartier 300. Back then, when men wanted a drink, they paid 300 francs and could settle their problems. The presence of the movie theater completely changed the habits of the neighborhood's residents. Next to the movie theater, other businesses have sprung up, as André Guy Edmond Loemba points out. --- To stay up-to-date on news from Congo-Brazzaville, follow us on: Our website: http://www.vox.cg/ Facebook: / voxcongo Twitter: / voxcongo Live stream: http://www.vox.cg/direct
