The opposition march will not take place. The government march, which was banned, has announced it will proceed anyway. The Article 64 Coalition postponed its march on Monday, July 20, at the request of the CENCO (National Episcopal Conference of Congo) and the ECC (Evangelical Council of Congo), setting August 15 as the deadline for the official convening of the inclusive national dialogue. On the same day, Governor Daniel Bumba refused to acknowledge the Sacred Union march. This Tuesday morning, Sylvain Mutombo announced it would go ahead. The march that was allowed to proceed is withdrawing, while the one that is banned is moving forward.
