Hallo Etosha National Park! | Pt. 7 | Namibia 2022: Das erste Mal Dachzelt

Hello Etosha National Park - it is THE highlight of every one of my Namibia holidays. I reach it via the northern King Nehale Gate and spend my first night in the Park at the beautiful Onkoshi Resort. The view over the large Etosha Pan is breathtaking. In the late evening, lightning makes the pan appear in a very special light for brief moments, thunder rumbles and rain falls. On the way to Fort Namutoni, where I will spend the next two nights, I meet my first elephants in this year's Etosha. I stop at Tsumcor waterhole and Klein Okevi waterhole. There an ostrich pair with many chicks goes to the water to quench their thirst, which a large herd of kudu in front of them also did. I drive around Fisher's Pan and enjoy the the vastness of the landscape, the silence and the colors. At Twee Palms waterhole, not only one of the original two palm trees is missing, but none of them are still at the waterhole that gave it its name. In the afternoon I visit the remote Kalkheuwel waterhole, where I spend some time. It is one of my favorite watering holes. My day ends at Klein Namutoni waterhole, where I am fascinated by the howling and calls of a pair of jackals. I also see jackals, these small, courageous predators, the next morning, as they dare to get close to an impressive male lion who enjoys eating at his carcass. They manage to steal a small piece of meat, which they then fight over. A great start to Africa's wildlife - I'm looking forward to more in the next few days.
