Investigating Concrete Failures: Typical Deterioration or Unique Conditions?
It's not unusual for concrete structures to exhibit cracking and spalling. While these common signs of deterioration are often due to common causes, they can also point to unusual circumstances that require an outside-the-box investigative approach. In this webinar, materials engineer Todd Nelson and structural engineer Josh White focus on two distinctive projects involving cracks and spalls that resulted from uncommon structural and materials failures. The presenters discuss the process of conducting a structural and materials investigation and how, in these projects, the investigative process helped identify unique conditions that led to the failure.
