삼성이 제대로 작심하고 만든 단 하나의 삼성 승용차! 1세대 SM5입니다. 이미 검증된 차체와 엔진을 바탕으로 최고의 품질 관리를 통해 아직까지도 우리 곁을 지키고 있는 SM525v의 모습입니다. 최상급인 SM525V와 보급형 고급세단 SM520V, 그리고 합리적인 중형 세단의 포지션을 가졌던 SM520과 SM518. 내구성을 무기로 쏘나타의 아성을 한때 제압했던 그 차량입니다. 저희 하이테크로에서 촬영한 SM525의 모습, 함께 확인하시겠습니다! This is Samsung's one and only passenger car, the 1st generation SM5. With Nissan's VQ engine and Maxima's body, Samsung added even more strict quality guide line. This resulted in such a high number of SM5s even rolling today. Before Samsung's SM5, Korean people believed that owning one car for a decade was not a good choice. (due to quailty problem of domestic car makers) Samsung tried to change that with high quality and durability of SM5. The top of line was SM525V which had VQ2.5 Also, VQ2.0 variant was available as SM520V. And then there was Nissan SR20 SM520 and 1.8 liter Sm518 as the base model. All were based on Nissan Maxima and had slight facelift front and rear. Samsung SM5 was the only model that threatened Hyundai Sonata in KDM market back in its glory days. 1st generation SM5 became meme that represents durability here in South Korea.
