Then maybe you already know about the duty-free run? Then feel free to share your experiences with us in the comments! Bright sunshine and perfect snow conditions await us in Ischgl, where the most kilometers of slopes are currently open in the world. Ideal conditions to really step on the gas. We make our way to the starting point of the duty-free run at Palinkopf, at an altitude of over 2,800 meters. Already on the first descent towards Idalp we feel how grippy the slopes are. Every turn feels effortless and the powder snow is dusty. We still have to take two chairlifts to get up to Palinkopf (2,864 m). Here we can take a nice look back towards Idalp, and we can already see the Swiss mountains in front of us. We cross the border. Then things get serious: the legendary descent to Samnaun lies before us. The 8 km long route winds through snow-covered valleys, past glittering snow crystals and an idyllic mountain stream. The descent is marked in red and has a uniform incline, which makes it a real pleasure route - ideal for enjoying the impressive nature to the full. We glide through a dreamy winter landscape, accompanied by a breathtaking view of the surrounding peaks of the Ötztal Alps. After a relaxed ride, we reach Samnaun, the duty-free village. Here the piste leads directly into the center, and we are practically still on our skis when we discover the first shops. Our goal: to find out whether shopping here is really worth it. From perfume to chocolate to Jägermeister - the prices are actually cheaper than in Germany. Ideal for small souvenirs or Christmas presents. It is particularly interesting for high-quality watches, e.g. from Rolex and Hublot, and jewelry. Here, buyers also save the 8% Swiss VAT, but there is a duty-free allowance of €300 when re-importing into Germany. Anything above this amount has to be paid through customs. So be careful when buying in bulk. After our shopping trip in Samnaun, we set off again towards Austria. Things get exciting at the border. There is a small customs house where checks are occasionally carried out. But this time we are lucky, no one is there and we can pass undisturbed. Back in the ski area, we enjoy the last descents before the day slowly comes to an end. At the Pardatschgrat, we toast the successful day of skiing in the Pardorama. If you liked the video, we would be happy if you gave us a thumbs up and remember to subscribe so you don't miss anything. Thanks for watching!
