About the song: The bird Minivet is one of the beautiful birds, admired for its grace, beauty, and radiant displays. When they gather in flocks and settle on tree branches, they gently play with their beaks, expressing a deep sense of togetherness. In memory of this bird and inspired by its graceful bond, a song accompanied by action is enacted as a traditional performance in various cultural occasions. Pottery Making by Wokha Village Women’s: Clay soil was collected from one of the earlier settlements where elders offered prayers with ornaments. This sacred mud was gathered annually and processed for traditional pottery making—a practice uniquely carried out by Wokha Village in the olden times. Senthan Cultural Club Longsa, Wokha: Women’s folk from Longsa, the Senthan Cultural Club, showcased the earlier practice of transforming raw cotton into yarn, dyeing it, and weaving it into cloth. These age‑old traditions and skills, once central to daily life, are now largely forgotten by the modern generation. The demonstration was intended to raise awareness of these ancestral practices and to keep alive the memory of how women’s skills in the olden days played a vital role in preserving cultural identity woven into traditional garments.
