Title: Discrete-Time Fourier Transform: EXAMPLES OF TRANSFORM CALCULATION Description: Examples of calculating the Discrete-Time Fourier Transform and its inverse using the definition. Camacho García, A. (2009). Discrete-Time Fourier Transform: EXAMPLES OF TRANSFORM CALCULATION. https://riunet.upv.es/handle/10251/4854 Automatic description: In this video, the professor explains the Discrete-Time Fourier Transform, focusing on examples of calculating transforms and their inverses. Four examples are presented: a decaying exponential, a symmetric exponential, a rectangular signal, and an inverse transform for a rectangular signal. To calculate the transform of the exponential signal, the definition is applied, and a summation is used to separate the signal into positive and negative parts. By working only with the positive part, a geometric progression is identified, and the corresponding formula is used to sum the terms, thus obtaining the transform in a general complex form. In the symmetric exponential transform, by applying the definition and performing the calculation for the negative and positive parts, it is discovered that the signal is real and even due to its symmetry. With the rectangular signal, the particularity of the transforms of discrete signals is demonstrated, indicating their periodicity and symmetry. Finally, it is explained how to calculate the inverse Fourier transform from a signal in the frequency domain, using the definition of the inverse transform and the integration process over an interval of amplitude two pi. It is concluded that, through the definition, Fourier transforms and their inverses can be represented and characterized.
