This video explains how to hold three plates, a technique often seen in restaurants. While it may look easy, maintaining balance is quite challenging. It's one of the first obstacles beginners encounter. As you get used to holding a tray, there's a lot to remember, but carrying food efficiently without spilling or breaking it is extremely difficult. While professional hotel staff often carry four or five plates, I don't recommend carrying more than three plates, as this will prevent you from responding quickly to emergencies other than serving food.
