Today I explored a historic mansion approximately 200 years old in the Machado and Alfenas region of Minas Gerais… a simply impressive place full of history. This giant mansion has about 60 rooms and is still partially preserved, with antique furniture and even an intact wood-burning stove. But what struck me most was finding a huge slave quarters inside the property… including the female slave quarters, where the enslaved women lived, worked, and spent their nights.
