Today’s route takes us from Hardraw up and over Great Shunner Fell — the highest point on the trail at 716m — before dropping down into Swaledale. We take on the long descent, conquer the famously stubborn Kisdon Hill, and finally limp (grinning!) into the beautiful village of Keld. Along the way: ✅ Endless hills that definitely pretend to be the "last one" (liars!) ✅ Jelly babies consumed for survival (and morale) ✅ Dreams of pints, showers, and shaggy carpets ✅ Stunning open views across Wensleydale and Swaledale ✅ Full stubbornness activated — no bus cheats allowed! This section of the Heriot Way is both a physical and mental test — not overly technical, but long, relentless, and wildly rewarding. If you think you need to be super-fit to do it — you don’t!
