TAPA Standards & Trainings Update

Every TAPA EMEA Annual Conference includes an update by Markus Prinz, Director, Standards & Training – and this year’s update was especially important given the upcoming launches of the FSR 2026 and TSR 2026 Standards’ revisions, which go live in mid-September. He opened with positive news of more FSR and TSR certifications, which have growth 17% and 7% respectively in the last 12 months, alongside a 70% grow in PSR certifications and Parking Place Declarations. Looking ahead, Markus updated delegates on the progress of the updated FSR and TSR and discussed the new training materials that will support companies throughout the certification process. He also updated delegates on TAPA’s Parking Security Requirements (PSR) ahead of a roundtable discussion on safe and secure parking with the European Commission in September - and presented the first Cyber Security Standard (CSS) certificate in the Europe, Middle East & Africa region to Niels Spoor, CSO of The Cargo Security Company. Markus’ presentation also included the findings of the latest TAPA EMEA training survey conducted with participants completing FSR, TSR, PSR & CSS courses, plans for the TAPA Guarding Security Requirements (GSR) in EMEA, and the new TSR Subcontracting Guidance document. He also covered the roll-out 55,000 free Driver Security Awareness Training courses, a new training voucher management application, and plans for a new global training concept.
