CDI Puebla 2019 - Adhara Pérez (niña prodigio) y David Hughes (Telescopio Milimétrico)

Adhara Maite Pérez Sanchez is eight years old, born on August 28, 2011. She studies Industrial Systems Engineering at CNCI, and Industrial Engineering with a focus on mathematics at UTEl. She took courses in gravitational waves and observational astronomy at the Astronomy Institute at UNAM. She belongs to the Nibiru Astronomical Society of the UNAM Faculty of Sciences. She participated in "Science in Sneakers" at INAOE and was selected to take a course on beautiful patterns, which refers to mathematical patterns and programming, taught by the University of Massachusetts in Mexico City. She was selected as one of the 100 powerful women of Mexico by Forbes magazine. She participated in "Space Up" in Querétaro. At six years old, she gave a presentation at the Luis Enrique Erro Planetarium at the Polytechnic University, and at the Second Congress on Intellectual Giftedness. She was offered enrollment at the University of Arizona to study astrophysics. Her dream is to be a scientist and become an astronaut to work for NASA. She is on the autism spectrum and has written a book titled "Don't Give Up." She would like to donate to children with autism and support her community to make the world more inclusive, as well as motivate girls in science.
