Mojave Blues — Slide Guitar Sounds from Rings & Bend in VCV Rack | Ambient Generative Patch

Mojave Blues is a melancholic, lonesome ambient patch that transforms Rings into a slide guitar–like instrument. It uses the DanT Bend module to recreate the expressive pitch glides characteristic of lap steel playing, resulting in a haunting, desert-inspired sound. Patch file:   / mojave-blues-161933856   THE SLIDE GUITAR TECHNIQUE Bend is a pitch interpolation module — instead of jumping instantly between CV values, it glides between them with a shaped curve. Routed into Rings in resonator mode, this turns every note change into a slow, aching slide. The result sits somewhere between a steel guitar, a cello, and a singing bowl — organic and deeply expressive for a modular patch. HOW THE PATCH WORKS Marbles generates the random melodic sequence — pitch and gate outputs feed into Bend, which smooths and curves each pitch transition before reaching Rings. A Fundamental Quantizer locks the melody to a chosen scale giving the wandering sequence a consistent tonal character. A slow Bogaudio LLFO modulates Rings continuously, while Fundamental Noise mixed through a CVMix adds subtle texture into the VCF before hitting Clouds. Clouds runs in standard granular mode with high texture and reverb, stretching and smearing the Rings output into a vast spatial wash — turning a single resonator note into a drifting landscape.
