Case 10: PCI Manual - Stent loss
After failed attempts to deliver a stent through an in-stent restenotic lesion of the proximal right coronary artery, the stent came off the balloon while trying to retrieve it into the guide catheter. Part of the stent was inside and part was outside the guide catheter. A balloon was advanced next to the lost stent and inflated, followed by withdrawal of both the guide catheter, the lost stent, and the guidewire en bloc. The lesion was rewired, predilated and successfully stented with an excellent final result.
