DOCUMENTARY: The Last Cotton Factory in Funtua
In the 1980’s, cotton contributed about 25% to Nigeria’s GDP. At the time, over 180 textile companies helped position Nigeria as one of the top cotton producers in Africa. Today the Funtua Textile company is one of less than 30 companies processing cotton. This documentary tells the story of cotton and its impact on the local economy as Nigeria seeks diversification away from oil.
