How to Size Culverts (using Hydraflow)

This video will teach users how to preliminary size a culvert under a driveway entrance using the Rational Method and AutoCAD Hydraflows extension. Rational Method Q = ciA Q = flow (ft^3/s) c = rational coefficient (# 0.00 between - 1.00) I = intensity of rainfall (inches/hour) A = drainage area (acres) After you find your Q (flow), you will want to size a pipe for the property capacity. In order to calculate the capacity, you will use Manning's Equation to solve for "D", or the diameter, of the pipe based on the known Q you found. Luckily, instead of doing hand calculations, you can use AutoCAD hydraflows extension. This program allows you to quickly run iterations and different drainage scenarios to adequately size your pipe. 🎓 STUDENT & DESIGN RESOURCES Access templates, tools, and more: 👉 https://payhip.com/civilhub 🔗 CONNECT WITH ME 🌍 Website – https://www.griffinfurlong.com/ 📸 Instagram –   / civilgriffin   📱 TikTok –   / civilgriffin   📘 READ MY BOOK Boundless: Choosing a Mindset for Lifelong Growth 👉 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BBJWJK2B WHO AM I?
