Battle Brothers is a punishing, gritty, turn-based tactical RPG where you command a struggling mercenary company in a low-fantasy, medieval sandbox. Developed by Overhype Studios, the game strips away the "chosen one" tropes: you start with nothing but a few inexperienced sells-swords, a low bank account, and a hunger for crowns. You manage the finances, buy the rations, choose the contracts, and face permanent death on a hex-grid battlefield where a single bad positioning choice can wipe out your best fighter forever. Whether you are hunting down brigands, battling monstrous beasts, or trying to survive massive late-game world crises, the core gameplay loop forces you to balance high tactical risk with deep economic management. What is New: Update v1.5.2.2 & v1.5.2.3 Overhype Studios surprised the community by dropping a massive new content update packed with fresh weapons, enemies, and major balance shifts. New Arsenal: Slice through enemies with the broad-bladed Executioner's Sword, poke through heavy armor gaps with the Estoc, or shatter lines using the Pollaxe. The Duelist Meta Shift: The Duelist perk now functions while equipping a buckler in your offhand, heavily buffing one-handed builds. A Brighter Shield Wall: You can now discover rare, named Bucklers across the map. Smarter Enemies: Mid-to-late game bandit parties are much more dangerous thanks to a new veteran unit tier called Brigand Marauders. Noble House Reinforcements: Northern factions now deploy heavy Men-at-Arms equipped with top-tier, lootable armor variants. New Background: Recruit the brutal Executioner character background to add extra raw power to your frontline roster. Combat Updates: The Riposte skill action point cost has been cut in half to just 2 AP, turning defensive play into a lethal counter-attacking style.
