2023 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN SIDECAR TITLE

Mark Plaisted and Ben Pitt are the 2023 South Australian champions! 2023 South Australian sidecar title was yet another amazing meeting to add to the list for Gillman speedway stadium in Adelaide. A heavy rainfall the night before seeing the track staff go above and beyond to provide the best track possible for a meeting of fast and furious racing. With a different format of time trials on offer for those who weren't seeded into the title meeting, this was a breath of fresh air and a positive step in the right direction. It might not be the perfect formula, but it has shown that the governing bodies are looking to always improve, which I think is fantastic. Top of the time sheets were young guns Nate Headland and Jaxon Reyner aboard the Nickie West owned mitch Honda. This was the first of many stand out performances by this team. Making it all the way through to the final after winning their semi-final race prior. Watch out world the young guns are coming, and they are fast. The final was won by South Australian and current back-to-back a1 Mark Plaisted with his passenger Ben Pitt from Mildura. This team didn't have it handed to them with Tyler Moon and Adam Lovell from Queensland doing battle all meeting. In third place as previously mentioned young guns Nate Headland and Jaxon Reyner. But the surprise of the meeting was veteran Mark Mitchell and Tony Carter, former national and state champions this team were on an older engine but just kept finishing races. Scoring the most points possible in every race, a few wins helped but this team was the little engine that could. Overall, the meeting was proof positive that Gillman speedway stadium is Australia's premier motorcycle speedway venue. Once again none of this is possible without the help of the following sponsors.
