As the team of gardeners pull out all the stops to get the ornate grounds up to scratch they are faced with an unexpected problem - false snow used during filming of KENNETH BRANAGH'S remake of Hamlet has played havoc with the lawns. Preparations are also well underway for the annual charity concert held in the memory of one of Blenheim's most famous sons - WINSTON CHURCHILL, a nephew of the eighth Duke of Marlborough. Churchill was born prematurely at Blenheim after his mother fell during a shooting party, and the palace was a place of great significance for him. It was in the grounds of Blenheim that he proposed to his wife, he spent the first days of his honeymoon there and was buried in a churchyard within sight of the palace.
