依存の価値を再考する | 晋一郎 熊谷 | TEDxHitotsubashiU

The speaker poses the question to the audience: Is dependence the opposite of independence? As a wheelchair user with a physical disability, the speaker will discuss the importance of diversifying sources of dependence, a lesson learned from their experiences during the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the importance of relying on genuine human relationships that accept you for who you are, for people living in modern times, drawing on the wisdom gained from participatory research on addiction. The speaker developed cerebral palsy as a result of neonatal asphyxia and has been wheelchair-bound ever since. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tokyo, they worked in the pediatrics department at Chiba Nishi Hospital and the pediatric cardiology department at Saitama Medical University, and conducted research in the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo, before assuming their current position. Their specialties are pediatrics and participatory research. His major works include "Rehabilitation Nights" (Igaku-Shoin, 2009), "Participant Research on Developmental Disabilities" (co-authored, Igaku-Shoin, 2008), "The Etiquette of Connection" (co-authored, NHK Publishing, 2010), "Participant Research for Everyone" (edited, Kongo Publishing, 2017), "Participant Research and Expert Knowledge" (edited, Kongo Publishing, 2018), "Let's Start Participant Research" (edited, Kongo Publishing, 2019), "Participant Research" (Iwanami Shoten, 2020), and "The Genesis of Responsibility " (co-authored, Shinyosha, 2020).
