Arreglar Ropa Desteñida Blanca ✅ Parte II 🧪

Fixing Faded White Clothes is the second video in a four-part series on how to fix color bleeding. In the first video, which you can find HERE:    • Arreglar Ropa Desteñida 🧐  Parte I  🧪 Test...   you can see how to prevent color bleeding by performing a simple test on the garment suspected of causing the problem. In this second video, I'll show you how to fix or restore a garment that has been stained as a result of washing it with another poorly dyed or colorfast garment. When the defective garment bleeds, the dye that drips into the bath migrates to the other garments, creating a "staining" effect and ruining their original appearance. RECIPE FOR FIXING COLOR BLEEDS ON WHITE CLOTHES You can do this by hand by soaking the garment, or in the washing machine on a long cycle. Prepare the bleaching and reducing bath according to the following instructions. INGREDIENTS: FOR EVERY 10 Liters of water, add: For the slimming bath: 2 tablespoons of baking soda 4 sachets of commercial bleach based on sodium dithionite or sodium hydrosulfite. For the oxidizing-neutralizing bath: 10 cc per liter of 3% hydrogen peroxide or 1 tablespoon of sodium percarbonate per liter of water PREPARATION: Option 1: Soaking Treatment (by hand) 1- Reducing Bath: Dissolve each product separately in hot water (around 45°C) and add them one by one to a container with 8-10 liters of water at the highest recommended temperature for your garment (never more than 60°C). As a guideline, 45°C usually works quite well. Once the reducing bath is prepared, place the stained or faded WHITE garment in it and stir occasionally so the bath works evenly. Leave it to soak for one hour, remove the garment, and rinse it well with warm water. 2 - Oxidizing Bath (highly recommended). Prepare the neutralizing oxidizing bath with sodium percarbonate or hydrogen peroxide in the quantities indicated in the ingredients. Submerge the garment, move it around, and let it soak for 5 minutes. IF YOU DO NOT PERFORM THE OXIDIZING BATH, MAKE SURE TO RINSE THE GARMENT THOROUGHLY SEVERAL TIMES TO REMOVE ANY HYDROSULFITE RESIDUE. Remove it, rinse it, and dry it as usual. Option 2: Washing Machine Treatment 1- Reducing Wash: Place ONLY the bleached garment in the washing machine. Use the longest cycle (for heavily soiled clothes) and set the temperature. Add the pre-dissolved products one by one through the detergent drawer. Let the cycle finish and proceed to the second step, "Oxidizing Bath." 2- Oxidizing Bath Wash (Recommended) Use a short, cold cycle. Add the hydrogen peroxide through the dispenser drawer... or if it's percarbonate, put it in the detergent drawer. Let the program run. Remove the garment from the washing machine and dry it as usual.
