Vance holds Switzerland talks with Iranian negotiators on tentative pact to end war

Vice President JD Vance went to Switzerland on Sunday for talks between U.S. and Iran negotiators on the tentative agreement to end the war in Iran. Pakastani and Qatari mediators also partook in technical-level discussions on resolving the ongoing conflict between the two countries that began late February. The U.S. side led by Vance, included Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, with Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi leading the Iranian side. Vance said there was an opportunity to “turn over a new leaf,” with Iran ahead of discussions and according to Iranian state media, direct engagements lasted for about 80 minutes.
