Clock Repair For Total Beginners - Lesson 2

#clock #clockrepair The second lesson in this new series for beginner clock repairers. In Lesson 1 we looked at the tools we will be using. In Lesson 2 we start to take the clock apart. I remove the hands from the clock then remove the movement from the case. First we check the movement for obvious problems and record them if any are found. Then we take photos or make drawings of the wheels within the movement before we take the movement apart. We will take more photos of the movement once the top plate has been removed. This will help you when it comes time to reassemble the movement. Later on you will be able to 'read' the wheels and know where they fit into a movement. A new Lesson will be added every Wednesday. If you have any questions leave them in the comments section below and I will answer them. ⏱ TIMESTAMPS ⏱ 0:00 Intro 0:40 Remove the hands 1:38 Remove the face 2:10 The pendulum 2:43 Remove the movement 4:46 Check for obvious problems 6:24 Photos or drawings New additional information and help files are available here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folder...
