Capt. Brian Esposito | Mill House Podcast - Episode 135
If you've never heard of Capt. Brian Esposito, it's no surprise. He’s a man who prefers to stay out of the limelight and quietly do his own thing. Born and raised in Deerfield Beach, FL, Brian grew up chasing the rare swells while surfing, skating at Ramp 48, and attempting to outsmart the monster local snook that lurked under neighborhood docks. His passion for the water grew as he became more immersed in fishing, leading him to build his own canoes and boats—a skill that reflects his hands-on, self-sufficient nature. Brian’s knowledge of local waters soon gained him the respect of the local guide community. In fact, he became known as the "guides' guide," often taking other professionals fishing on their days off. Eventually, he dove headfirst into professional guiding, fishing from Chokoloskee to Key West, and every stretch in between. But Brian isn’t drawn to the crowded, easy-access spots where others flock. He’s not interested in anchoring up with dozens of other boats chasing migrating tarpon or tailing redfish a few hundred yards from civilization. Instead, Brian is all about “skiing out of bounds”—seeking out remote, hard-to-reach areas where he’s unlikely to see another boat, and where the fishing is as pristine as it gets. This creative spirit and drive for innovation eventually led Brian to further his craft with his boat-building company, Glades Craft Skiffs. His experience as a guide and his deep knowledge of shallow water fishing inspired him to design and build custom skiffs specifically for the unique waters of the Everglades, allowing anglers to access the hidden, off-the-beaten-path spots he so deeply loves. Capt. Brian Esposito is more than just a guide—he’s a true craftsman of both his trade and his boats. Whether he's guiding anglers on remote waters or crafting new skiff designs, his commitment to staying off the beaten path and preserving the untouched beauty of the Everglades, the Florida Keys, and beyond is what sets him apart. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please subscribe and leave a comment.
