Your Rifle's Accuracy is Getting Worse. Fix It

My rifle's accuracy was falling apart after 1,700 rounds — and then it stopped chambering completely. Here's how I found (and fixed) both problems. This Weatherby Vanguard Meateater Edition (6.5 Creedmoor) used to shoot sub-MOA groups consistently. After years of use, the groups started opening up — and then one day at the range, the bolt wouldn't close at all. In this video, I walk through the entire troubleshooting process: bore scoping the barrel, deep cleaning the chamber, disassembling the bolt to clean the ejector and extractor, and diagnosing a brass issue that was quietly getting worse the whole time. If your rifle's accuracy has been getting worse, or if you've had a round that suddenly won't chamber, this video covers a lot of the most common culprits — and a few you might not have thought to check. What's covered: Bore scoping to check for barrel obstructions Deep cleaning the chamber and barrel Cleaning the bolt, especially the ejector and extractor Spotting case head separation on reloaded brass (and why it matters) Comparing Alpha brass vs. Lapua brass for precision Reseating the recoil lug and remounting the scope Full range test results across 10 different loads Long-range confirmation in the Field I'm not a gunsmith — just a regular guy who didn't want to give up on a rifle I really like. If you're dealing with something similar, hopefully this saves you some time. Note: This video is about cleaning and maintenance only — no modifications are shown or discussed. 👍 If this helped, consider subscribing for more hands-on troubleshooting, hunting, and precision rifle content. #WeatherbyVanguard #RifleMaintenance #RifleShooting #PrecisionRifle #ReloadingBrass #RifleTroubleshooting #6.5Creedmoor
