TT Assen First Ever Track Session | 2:13.960 Lap Time | 2007 Honda CBR600RR on Street Tires

For the past three years I kept saying I wanted to ride at THE Dutch MotoGP circuit, TT Assen. Last winter I finally stopped talking and booked my first track day with instruction at 2TheExperience. Funny enough, I was genuinely nervous, even though I’ve been coaching beginner riders at Motor Circuit Training for the past four years. TT Assen feels different. It’s the place where riders chase lap times, compare themselves to others, and secretly put pressure on themselves to perform. But the moment my helmet went on and the marshals waved green, something completely changed. I mean it!! I was literally screaming inside my helmet from excitement. There’s something unreal about opening the throttle at Assen and feeling how far the bike can carry you through corners that you’ve watched on TV for years. The first thing my partner said to me was, that he was very proud ♥️🥹 The bike: 2007 - Honda CBR600RR - PC40 73.800 km on the dashboard. Mostly stock besides the slip-ons, Brembo RCS-19 Master Brake Cilinder with steel braking lines and looks. No ABS, no traction control, no TFT display, no rain mode. Just a properly set up suspension for my weight and riding preference. And yes... this lap was done on 8000 km old Bridgestone S23 street tires with 2.3 bar front and 2.7 bar rear pressure, no tire warmers, and only around 10°C with sessions constantly switching between damp and slightly wet conditions. Luckily the racing line dried quickly and I slowly started trusting the bike more and more on corner exit. This was also the first time ever I actually missed having a gear indicator on my CBR600RR 😂 But honestly... the feeling through Hoge Heide and Ramshoek made up for everything. This video shows my fastest lap of the day: a 2:13.960 around TT Assen during only my first free riding session there. 4 sessions of instruction, thats it. The lap starts the moment I overtake my partner on the white Honda CB750 Hornet on the finish straight.
