Panoramic radiography and computed tomography (CT) scans are not the same thing — and this difference is crucial in dental implant planning. In this video, Dr. Rodrigo Sicuti explains in simple terms why panoramic radiography is a TWO-DIMENSIONAL (flat) examination, while computed tomography is THREE-DIMENSIONAL, allowing for the evaluation of bone height, width, and depth, as well as the location of important structures such as nerves and the maxillary sinus.
