Redmond police to implement new drone technology for emergency responses

The Redmond Police Department on Thursday will demonstrate drone technology that officers will use to respond to incidents. The drones as first responders program was launched for emergency responses, police said. The program enables a pilot to fly a drone to an incident, "quickly assess a situation and possibly de-escalate it without directly exposing officers and community members to harm," police added. Drones will be dispatched along with officers.
