Shaykh Ibrahim Al-Akhdar | Exclusive Recitation from Sūrah Hūd in London During his inaugural visit to Al-Maqāri al-Qurʾāniyyah UK, we were honoured to have Shaykh Ibrāhīm al-Akhḍar, Shaykh al-Qurrāʾ of al-Masjid an-Nabawī, attend our Tuesday Majlis at-Taḥqīq. The Shaykh listened to a selection of students’ recitations, correcting and refining them to the highest levels of precision. He also left us with timeless advice, which we ask Allāh to grant us the ability to act upon. The Shaykh concluded our ḥalaqah, as we always do, by reciting the page assigned for the upcoming week for the students present. With the grace of Allah SWT, we are blessed to share this exclusive recitation with you today. Within it, you will hear the highest levels of adāʾ and precision in Qurʾānic recitation. It is a testament to the miracle of the Qurʾān, which has been preserved to this very level from the time of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ all the way to us, carried, preserved, and transmitted with amānah by the likes of our noble, esteemed, and beloved Shaykh, Shaykh Ibrahim Al-Akhdar. Another testament to the miracle of the Qurʾān is that, despite being 86 years of age – may Allah preserve him –, the Shaykh maintains the ability to recite the Qurʾān at the highest level of itqān and proficiency, having received it through talqīn and mushāfahah from the eminent scholars and giants of the previous generation, the likes of Shaykh Ḥasan ash-Shāʿir, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Fattāḥ al-Qāḍī, Shaykh Aḥmad ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz az-Zayyāt, and Shaykh ʿĀmir Sayyid ʿUthmān – may Allah have mercy on them all.
